Destination Description:

Well-known resort, with 28,000 inhabitants, in the eastern part of the region, 68 mi. south-east from Valencia, 55 mi. north-east from Alicante. Shopping center, supermarket, shops, restaurant, bar, disco, evening entertainment. Access: Railway station “Gata de Gorgos” 5 mi. Bus service, Altea 24 mi. Denis 5 mi. Calpe 18 mi. Covered market. Typical fiestas: San Juan in June and Moors and Christians in July. The houses are often situated in the hills 3 – 9 mi. from the center, and a car is therefore necessary. In hot dry periods water may be rationed. For arrivals by plane: airport Valencia-Manises (VLC) 74 mi., Alicante-El Altet (ALC) 62 mi.
